How Nielsen Automotive Group’s partnership with Sussex County Community College works
Here at Nielsen Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, a member of the Nielsen Automotive Group, we value the impact that education and hands-on experience have in molding young automotive professionals. Through our new partnership with Sussex County Community College, these invaluable academic and professional experiences come together in a very special way.
What does the partnership consist of?
SCCC students enrolled in the school’s Automotive Services Technology program qualify for official training at one of our dealerships, including here at Nielsen Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. Training includes shadowing one of our factory-trained, certified service technicians, coinciding with course material the program covers in the classroom. The student will be required to interview with the dealership's service manager, similar to the typical job-seeking process. With certification requirements and other qualifications fulfilled, the student will complete the partnership program and move on to the exclusive employment opportunity.
"We are super excited about our partnership with SCCC. It is an honor to participate in furthering the education of these young men and women, and we are truly looking forward to offering them employment opportunities at one of our locations in the near future."
Bill Snouffer, General Manager, Nielsen Automotive Group
What follows student certification?
With all program elements covered and an official certification, SCCC students will be offered employment at one of the Nielsen Automotive Group’s dealerships. The opportunity to start an automotive career in this manner, with formal training through a college and partnering dealership, is unique, and helps establish a solid foundation for future success.
